The Franschhoek Venues team made a visit to Le Coin Français restaurant in Franschhoek. Head Chef and Owner Darren Badenhorst and manager Jasper Venter exceeded our expectations on our visit to the restaurant. Darren was the former chef at Grand Provence in Franschhoek and now he is successfully running his own restaurant in Franschhoek.
Both in concept and in name, the aptly named “Le coin Français” , which literally means Franschhoek.
The FOOD – Mostly French cuisine offering an à la carte lunch, a six-course tasting menu and an eight-course chef’s journey menu for evening dining, Le coin Français has something for every discerning client. Of course we had to have the Journey menu to maximize our experience! All of the dishes was a favorite!
The VIBE – The airy space is decked out with contemporary upmarket furniture in a neutral tones, but it’s the divine restored spiral staircase at the one end that we adore. The space is very clean and only the best cutlery and crockery is used.
Le Coin Français isopen for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and dinner form Tuesday to Saturday. Booking is essential. To view the restaurant watch the YouTube video below!
